Cancer as Cognitive Lightcone

Michael Levin describes cancer not merely as a genetic disease, but as a shrinking of the cognitive lightcone. When cells electrically disconnect (via gap junctions), they “forget” they are part of a larger body. They revert o their unicellular goals: treat everything else as the environment and reproduce. 1
