Image (Function)

The image of a function $f:D\to C$ is the set of all possible output values the function with domain $D$ can produces, i.e.:

$$\mathrm{Im}(f)=\{f(a)\mid a\in D\}\subseteq C$$

In contrast to the codomain, the image is the set of actual outcomes. Thus: $\mathrm{Im}(f)\subseteq C$.
