The L1 norm is a norm defined as the sum of the absolute vector elements:

$$||\mathbf{x}|{|}_1:=\sum _i^n|x_i|=\sqrt{⟨x,x⟩}$$

where $⟨x,x⟩$ denotes the dot product.
