Limit Superior

The largest limit point $a$ (including improper ones) of a sequence $(a_n{)}_{n\ge 0}$ is called the limit superior and is written as:

$$a=\lim \underset{n\to \infty }{\sup }{a}_n$$

Every sequence has a limit superior.
