Measurable Space

A measurable space is a pair $(X,\mathfrak{A})$ consisting of a set $X$ and a sigma-algebra $\mathfrak{A}$ on $X$.

The set $X$ is called the underlying set, and the sigma-algebra $\mathfrak{A}$ specifies which subsets of $X$ are measurable.
