Neutral Monism
Neutral monism is the philosophical position that reality is fundamentally composed of a single, “secret third thing” that is neither mental nor physical in itself.
Both mental phenomena (like thoughts) and physical phenomena (like objects) are considered to be merely different aspects of this single, underlying unobserved substance.
It’s a contra-position to Descartes’ Mind-Body Dualism.
