Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM)

Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) is a signal modulation technique to transfer multiple bits with a single sine wave.

This is done by splitting up the unit circle into multiple points and extend its range using the sine’s amplitude. See the Visualisation 16-QAM for a good example.
