Real-Valued Function

A real-valued function is a function whose codomain is the set of real numbers $\mathbb{R}$.

Formally, if $X$ is a set, then

$$f:X\to \mathbb{R}.$$

For each $x\in X$, the value $f(x)$ is a real number.
