Definition

Release Time ( Interval Scheduling)

A release time $r_j$ for job $j$ is the earliest time at which $j$ may start processing.

A schedule must satisfy

$$r_j\le S_j.$$

Fixed intervals

For a fixed interval $I_j=[s_j,f_j)$, the start time is already fixed. The release-time condition becomes $s_j\ge r_j$. In many interval models, the release time is simply the interval start $s_j$.
