Release Time

A release time $r_j$ for job $j$ is the earliest time at which job $j$ may start processing.
A schedule must satisfy

$$S_j\ge r_j.$$

Fixed intervals

For a fixed interval $I_j=[s_j,f_j)$, the start time is already fixed. The release-time condition becomes $s_j\ge r_j$. In many interval models, the release time is simply the interval start $s_j$.
