Time-Division Multiple Access

Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) is a channel access method for shared-medium networks which allows several users to share the same frequency channel by dividing the signal into different time slots. Each user is assigned a specific time slot during which they can transmit or receive data, thereby preventing multiple users from interfering with each other’s signals.

Usage in GSM

TDMA is used in GSM in conjunction with FDMA and SDMA.
