Psychology is the scientific discipline that studies behaviour and mental processes, including perception, cognition, emotion, motivation, development, personality, and social interaction. It uses empirical methods to describe, explain, predict, and sometimes change how people and other organisms behave and experience the world.
Psychology is a broad family of research traditions rather than a single theory. It includes basic research on mind and behaviour as well as applied fields such as clinical, educational, occupational, and social psychology.
