Brain Tissue
Brain tissue, or brain parenchyma, is the functional substance of the brain composed of neurons, glial cells, and their supporting vasculature.
Unlike the meninges and cranial vasculature, brain tissue itself lacks pain receptors and is therefore insensitive to pain.
