Computational Social Choice
Computational social choice studies collective decision making through algorithms and computation. A typical rule takes individual preferences and produces a collective outcome:
The outcome may be an elected candidate, a ranking or an allocation of resources. The field combines social choice theory with questions of how to compute such outcomes, how difficult that computation is, and how participants can influence them strategically.
