Medication overuse headache (MOH), also called medication adaptation headache, is a secondary headache disorder caused by excessive use of acute headache medication.
It manifests as a paradoxical worsening of headache frequency and a lowered pain threshold, perpetuating a cycle of escalating analgesic consumption.
