Neurogenic Inflammation
Neurogenic inflammation is inflammation initiated by the release of pro-inflammatory mediators from sensory nerve terminals.
In migraine, trigeminal nerve terminals release neuropeptides such as CGRP, producing vasodilation, plasma protein extravasation, and sensitisation of nociceptors within the meninges.
